Pickering Railcar No.16 (6)

4mm and 7mm Scales

This steam railcar car "ran" on the Kent & East Sussex Railway. It was delivered to this "Colonel Stephens" Railway in 1905, being built by Messrs. Pickering. It was basically a 4 wheel fixed frame vehicle, powered by a vertical boiler. The length over buffers was 30ft with a wheelbase of 17ft. It sported various numbers during it's existence; No 16 as part of coaching stock and No 6 as engine stock.

Various cosmetic changes took place over the railmotor's life, and from phototgraphs we have identified 3 different panelling arrangements, be that on the sides or the ends. One modification was of course the famous "Garden Shed" doors! (Seen in the model photo below).
