Plymouth Devonport & South Western Juction Railway (BA&CLR)

5 plank coal wagon

4mm (00) RTR

The PD&SWJR bought 20 five plank open wagons from Pickering's. From Pickering's records it is believed that these open wagons were numbered from 31 to 50,  from the evidence of photographs, and the Southern Railway internal wagons stock list.

The wagon stock livery was recorded by R. Y. Pickering as 'bright red (same as William Cory's)'. Ironwork was black with lettering and numbers in white, shaded black on the wagons. It is worth noting that the instructions stated that the lettering was to have been 'PD&SWJ', but in practice the 'J' was omitted.
